There’s so much focus on pregnancy and birth—and that’s great. But the weeks and months after delivery? That’s when your body is doing some of its hardest work. Your pelvis needs to re-stabilize. Your spine has to readjust to carrying weight differently. And on top of all that, you’re spending hours hunched over a tiny baby, nursing, rocking, and carrying a car seat that weighs more than you’d think.
Most new moms push through the aches because they assume it’s just part of the deal. It doesn’t have to be. Getting your body checked and adjusted after birth can make a real difference in how you feel—and how quickly you bounce back

Every postpartum body is different, but here’s what we see most often at Kairos:
Pelvic Realignment
Your pelvis went through a lot during pregnancy and delivery. Whether you had a vaginal birth or a C-section, the joints, muscles, and ligaments in your pelvis need to find their way back to balance. Gentle adjustments help speed that process along and prevent long-term issues.
Low Back and Hip Pain
Carrying, lifting, and bending over a newborn all day takes a toll. Most new moms develop aches in their lower back and hips within the first few weeks. Chiropractic care addresses the cause—not just the symptoms.
Nursing and Feeding Posture
If you’re breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, you’re probably spending hours in positions that aren’t great for your neck, shoulders, and upper back. Dr. Jordan can adjust those problem areas and give you tips for better posture while you feed.
Neck and Shoulder Tension
Between looking down at your baby, stress, lack of sleep, and holding your body in awkward positions, the upper back and neck tighten up fast. This is one of the most common things new moms come to us for.
C-Section Recovery Support
If you delivered by C-section, your body is healing from major surgery on top of everything else. Chiropractic care supports your nervous system and helps your body heal more efficiently. We’re careful, we’re gentle, and we work around your recovery timeline..
You might be surprised—many of our new moms come in within the first week or two after delivery. There’s no set rule about when to start, but here’s a general guide:
Vaginal Delivery
Most women can be adjusted within days of giving birth. Many of our patients who received prenatal care at Kairos come in for their first postpartum visit within a week.
C-Section Delivery
We typically recommend waiting until you’re feeling up to moving around comfortably—usually around 2 to 4 weeks, depending on your recovery. Dr. Jordan will modify her approach to keep you safe and comfortable.
The sooner you start, the sooner your body gets the support it needs. But it’s never too late. Whether your baby is one week old or one year old, your body can still benefit from care..
Just like our prenatal care, postpartum care at Kairos is built around you. Dr. Jordan will scan your nervous system, check your pelvic alignment, and put together a plan that fits your body and your life right now.
Many new moms combine their visits with care for their baby—we see a lot of mom-and-baby appointments, which makes the logistics a whole lot easier. You get adjusted, baby gets checked, and you both head home feeling great.
A: Most women can come in within the first week or two after a vaginal delivery. If you had a C-section, we recommend waiting until you’re comfortably moving around—usually 2 to 4 weeks. Dr. Jordan will always check in with you and adapt her approach to where you are in your recovery.
A: Yes! Nursing and feeding put a lot of strain on your neck, shoulders, and upper back. Adjustments relieve tension in those areas, and Dr. Jordan can show you small posture changes that make a big difference during long feeding sessions.
A: Chiropractic care is safe and helpful after a C-section. We don’t adjust the incision area—instead, we focus on your spine, pelvis, and nervous system to support your body’s overall healing. Dr. Jordan will modify her technique to make sure you’re comfortable and safe.
A: It depends on your body and your goals. Some moms come in for a handful of visits to address specific pain. Others continue with regular wellness care because they love how they feel. There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline—we’ll build a plan that makes sense for you.
